The Generator type system began as geometric lettering made for a poster promoting an exhibition that took place at the Kaleidoscope Gallery in 2015. Artworks on display at the show employed analogue systems to explore the language of generative art.

Generator has now been expanded into a family of four styles, each in three weights and in positive and negative versions.

In Generator every contour and space aligns precisely so that all of its fonts can interact in layers with one another. Using page layout, bitmap or vector design software, end users can apply selected styles to letterforms and backgrounds either in precisely interlocking layers or in easily calibrated offsets. Outlines, tints, colours, textures and patterns can be applied as appropriate.
