MuirMcNeil Ubu is a geometric type collection named after Ubu Roi, an anarchic satire written by Alfred Jarry in 1896. It has been drawn in four versions, Ubu Bloc, shown here, and Ubu Trou, Coup and Doux. Each variant is available in three compatible styles.

In the Ubu Bloc type, all of the glyphs are solid geometric forms.

A system of rudimentary counter forms is inserted into the typeface’s contours in Ubu Trou, while in Ubu Coup, characters are split into their geometric sub-components. Ubu Doux is a softer variant where all inner junctions and intersections have been gently curved.
