MuirMcNeil Triode is a modular geometric type system comprising six variant styles, each in seven matching weights. The system is supplemented by Triode-U, a separate package of pattern and texture fonts designed to expand its compositional possibilities.
The Triode system investigates reciprocal relationships between form and counterform using a rhythmic framework of visual components aligned to the baseline and x-height of almost every character. Building on principles explored in several other MuirMcNeil type systems, these recurring structures shape words that are open to multiple visual readings while remaining as recognisable and readable as the underlying constraints permit.
