MuirMcNeil Triode is a modular geometric type system. It comprises 63 fonts drawn in multiple styles and weights, across eleven subgroups.

The Triode system investigates reciprocal relationships between form and counterform using a rhythmic framework of visual components aligned to the baseline and x-height of almost every character. Building on principles explored in several other MuirMcNeil type systems, these recurring structures shape words that are open to multiple visual readings while remaining as recognisable and readable as the underlying constraints permit.

Positioned at the threshold between reading and looking, the Triode design occupies a point at which language begins to function as pattern and pattern begins to recover the qualities of language.

All Triode characters share common widths and spaces, allowing different styles to be superimposed in layered combinations while remaining fully compatible across the system, with weights calibrated precisely throughout.
