Christoph Grünberger’s 2019 book, Analog Algorithm, is a toolkit for creating new graphic forms. It provides designers and architects with the methods and materials needed to undertake data-driven design explorations.
To reflect the book’s experimental tone, Grünberger chose to use MuirMcNeil’s Sentient typeface for the entire layout. Designed in collaboration with Tim Hutchinson in 2017, Sentient draws inspiration from the all-caps letterforms displayed on HAL 9000’s screen in Stanley Kubrik’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.
